1 Introduction
As a second-level subject under the national key first-level discipline "Transportation Engineering" of our university, it has programs for doctoral and master's degrees. And there is a post-doctoral research station in the school.
This is an enrollment specialty of the Master of Engineering of our school. Being a newly emerging interdisciplinary subject, it takes application of modern information technology in traffic engineering as research objectives, such as traffic informatization, intellectualization and integration. This discipline mainly trains high-level technical and decision-making personnel who have comprehensive theoretical and technical talents in the field of intelligent transportation and information.
2 Research Directions
(1) Intelligent Transportation System Theory
It concerns ITS planning and design methods, modern traffic flow theory, dynamic traffic flow assignment theory, traffic intelligent control theory and technology, dynamic path planning, travel time prediction and other traffic guidance theories and methods.
(2) Traffic Information Acquisition Technology and Traffic Information System
It studies collection method of modern traffic information and design of traffic information system, and studies basic theory and technology of data fusion, data mining and information release. The main contents are: 1) research and development of new traffic information detection equipment with various adaptability, according to characteristics of modern urban traffic and expressway traffic; 2) research on the theory and method of multi-sensor information fusion; research on application of image technology in traffic system, including traffic information analysis and traffic incidents detection and so on.
(3) Modeling and Simulation of complex traffic system
Utilizing modern mathematical theory and computer simulation technology, it studies modeling and simulation of time-varying, non-linear and complex traffic system, which lays a foundation for analysis and design of traffic control and management system of Expressway and urban road.
(4) Traffic Control Theory and System
The control methods of expressway and urban road traffic control system are studied by usage of automatic control theory, detection technology, communication technology and video technology. Intelligent traffic control and traffic guidance system are also studied.
(5) Vehicle Safety Assistance and Intelligent Vehicle System
Intelligent vehicle system composed of sensor, computer, on-board control system and lane control system is studied, so are the theory, technology and equipment for improving vehicle safety.
(6) Intelligent Technology of Urban Traffic Operation
The theory, technology and method of urban public transport operation dispatch, information release, real-time traffic monitoring, traffic information collection based on public transport system are studied.
