The "Software Engineering" discipline of Chang’An University has distinctive features in transportation applications. It integrates the directions related to software engineering and its application in the original "Computer Science and Technology" discipline, forming new research directions such as collaborative software engineering theory, software system design and architecture, and service-oriented storage as well as computing software systems, virtual reality and simulation software design, intelligent traffic application software development, software quality assurance and evaluation.
In recent years, we have hosted and undertaken more than 80 scientific research projects including the national "973" and "863" around the above research directions, with an annual average research funding of more than 3 million yuan, and won 2 second prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, 3 provincial-level scientific and technological awards.
Through the introduction and training, a “software engineering” discipline team consisting of well-known experts, academic backbones and young backbones has been formed. The team includes several key members of the innovation team of the Ministry of Education and also includes full-time American professor Liu Ce of the “Hundred Talents Program” of Shaanxi Province, full-time Swedish professor Wang Weixing, and American software expert Chang Xintai, introduced from Adobe Corporation.
The discipline relies on a key laboratory of the Ministry of Education, a Shaanxi Provincial Teaching and Experimental Demonstration Center, and a Shaanxi Provincial Key Engineering Research Center. In recent years, it has recruited more than 100 postgraduates majoring in software engineering.
