The major is based on technology of computer, information and network for applications in traffic industry. It cultivates advanced engineering and technology personnel with good scientific literacy who can systematically grasp basic theories of computer science and technology, information engineering and traffic engineering, and engage in information system (engineering) related fields.
The faculty students mainly study courses like program design, database, information technology foundation, information management and security, communication principle, computer network, multimedia technology, traffic engineering, transportation planning and management, intelligent transportation system.Also, they need to complete practical training by the curriculum design, experiments, graduation practice and design.
The graduates can work in government departments, enterprises and institutions, passenger and freight stations, scientific research institutes, institutions of higher learning and other related units in transportation industry, also engaged in information collection, transmission, processing and application, information system design, planning, construction and management, or in related teaching and scientific research institutes. This major has a four-year schooling system, conferring a bachelor's degree in Engineering.
